Duke Admits 875 Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2022

duke logoDuke admitted 875 applicants to the Class of 2022 under early decision.  

The total number of early decision applicants rose 16 percent to 4,090 this year, resulting in an early admission rate of 21 percent.

Of those admitted, 707 will be attending the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences, while the remaining 168 will matriculate at the Pratt School of Engineering.

University of Pennsylvania Admits 1,312 Early Decision Applicants to Class of 2022

upenn logoThe University of Pennsylvania admitted 1,312 early decision applicants to the Class of 2022.  

Early decision applications rose 15 percent from the previous year to 7,074, resulting in an admission rate of 18.5 percent.

This list includes several popular private and public schools, including Barnard, Boston College, Boston University, Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Claremont McKenna, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Davidson, Duke, Emory, Emory (Oxford), Georgetown, Georgia Tech, Hamilton, Harvard, Harvey Mudd, Johns Hopkins, Middlebury, MIT, Northwestern, Notre Dame, NYU, Pitzer, Pomona, Princeton, Rice, Scripps, Trinity College, University of Georgia, UMass Amherst, University of Pennsylvania, University of Virgina, Vanderbilt, Wesleyan, William & Mary, Williams and Yale. 

Stanford and the University of Chicago don't plan to release statistics until the end of the admissions cycle.

Claremont Colleges Report Early and Regular Decision Admission Results for the Class of 2021

ClaremontCollegesThe Claremont Colleges—Pomona, Pitzer, Scripps, Claremont McKenna and Harvey Mudd—announced admission results for the Class of 2021.  

  • Pomona reported 8.2 percent of total applicants were admitted this year.  The admission rate for early decision was 21 percent.
  • Scripps reported 33.4 percent of total applicants were admitted to the Class of 2021.  The admission rate for early decision applicants was 38 percent versus 33 percent for regular decision.
  • Pitzer reported an overall admission rate of 15.6 percent for the Class of 2021.  The early decision admission rate was 34.4 percent.
  • Claremont McKenna admitted 10.4 percent of applicants to the Class of 2021.  The early decision admission rate was 31 percent versus regular decision admission rate of 8 percent.
  • Harvey Mudd admitted 13.9 percent of applicants to the Class of 2021.  The early decision admit rate was 16.1 percent.

Vanderbilt Admits 23.6% of Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2021

Boston University Admits 916 Early Decision I Applicants to Class of 2021

bulogoBoston University admitted 916 applicants to the Class of 2021 under Early Decision I.  

The total number of early decision I applicants grew to 2,142, resulting in an admission rate of 42 percent.

Another 2,039 applications were received for Early Decision II, with notifications planned for mid-February.  In total, Boston University plans to enroll approximately 35 percent of the the Class of 2021 through students admitted early decision.

Northwestern Admits 26 Percent of Early Decision Applicants to Class of 2021

northwestern logoNorthwestern University admitted approximately 26 percent of early decision applicants to the Class of 2021.  

A total of 3,736 early decision applications were received this year, up 20 percent. With total applications topping 37,000, the overall admission rate is projected to fall under 10 percent.

Middlebury Admits 343 Early Decision I Applicants to the Class of 2021

middlebury logoMiddlebury College announced today that it admitted 343 early decision I applicants to the Class of 2021.  

A total of 673 early decision I applications were received this year, up 6.5 percent from last year, resulting in an early admission rate of 51 percent.

Middlebury expects admitted early decision applicants to comprise 51 percent of the targeted class size of 705.

Emory College Admits 474 Early Decision I Applicants to Class of 2021

A total of 1,493 ED1 applications were received this year, up 9 percent from the previous year.  The overall ED1 admission rate was 32 percent.

Oxford College at Emory University Admits 190 Early Decision I Applicants to Class of 2021

A total of 712 ED1 applications were received this year, up 53 percent from the previous year.  The overall ED1 admission rate was 27 percent.

Johns Hopkins Admits 591 Early Decision Applicants to Class of 2021

The total number of early decision applicants remained relatively steady at 1,934, resulting in an early admission rate of 31 percent.

Duke Admits 861 Applicants to the Class of 2021

The total number of early decision applicants grew 2 percent to 3,516 this year, resulting in an early admission rate of 24.5 percent.

Early decision admits will comprise 50 percent of this year's class, up from 48 percent last year.

Dartmouth Admits 555 Applicants to the Class of 2021

dartmouth logoDartmouth accepted 555 applicants to the Class of 2021 under early decision.  

The total number of early admission applicants grew to 1,999 this year, up 3.7 percent.  This resulted in an early admission rate of 28 percent.

Dartmouth anticipates these early admits will account for 47 percent of this year's class.

Brown Admits 695 applicants to the Class of 2021
