Northwestern Admits 1,061 Early Decision Applicants to Class of 2020

northwestern logoNorthwestern University admitted 1,061 early decision applicants to the Class of 2020.  

A total of 3,022 early decision applications were received this year, resulting in an early admission rate of 35%. 

This year's early admittees are expected to comprise over 50% of this year's targeted class.

Yale Admits 795 Early Action Applicants to Class of 2020

yaleYale admitted 795 applicants to the Class of 2020 under Single Choice Early Action.

A total of 4,662 applications were received, resulting in an admission rate of 17 percent.  53 percent of applicants were deferred, 29 percent were denied, and 1% were withdrawn or incomplete.

Yale expects to admit an additional 1,200-1,300 students via regular decision to achieve a target class size of 1,360.

Stanford Admits 745 Early Applicants to Class of 2020

Stanford logoStanford announced today that it admitted 745 applicants to the Class of 2020 under restrictive early action.  

Early applicants grew 7% to 7,822, resulting in an 9.5% admission rate.

Johns Hopkins Admits 584 Early Decision Applicants to Class of 2020

johnshopkinslogoJohns Hopkins admitted 584 applicants to the Class of 2020 under early decision.  

The total number of early decision applicants grew 3% to 1,929, resulting in an early admission rate of 30%.

University of Pennsylvania Admits 1,335 Early Decision Applicants to Class of 2020

upenn logoThe University of Pennsylvania admitted 1,335 early decision applicants to the Class of 2020.  

Early decision applications rose 5% from the previous year to 5,762, but the admission rate remained essentially unchanged at 24%.

This year's early admittees are expected to comprise 54% of this year's targeted class of 2,445 students.

Williams admits 246 early decision applicants to Class of 2020

williams logoWilliams admitted 246 applicants to the Class of 2020 under early decision.  

A total of 585 early decision applications were received, resulting in an early admission rate of 42%.

Early decision admits will comprise 45 percent of this year's class.

Harvard Admits 918 Applicants to Class of 2020

harvardHarvard announced earlier today that it admitted 918 applicants to the Class of 2020 under early action.  

With the total pool of early applicants up 4.3% from last year, the early admission rate fell to 14.8% compared to 16.5% for the Class of 2019.

Duke Admits 813 Applicants to Class of 2020

duke logoDuke admitted 813 applicants to the Class of 2020 under early decision.  

The total number of early decision applicants grew 11% to 3,455 this year, resulting in an early admission rate of 23.5%.

Early decision admits will comprise 48 percent of this year's class, unchanged from last year.

Brown Admits 669 applicants to Class of 2020

brown logoBrown accepted 669 applicants to the Class of 2020 under early decision.  

The total number of early decision remained steady at 3,030 this year, resulting in an early admission rate of 22%.

Northwestern Class of 2020 Early Decision applications rise 12 percent

northwestern logoNorthwestern received 3,022 early decision applications as of the November 1st deadline, an increase of approximately 12 percent from the previous year.  According to Michael Mills, the associate provost for university enrollment, the acceptance rate for early decision candidates is likely to be similar to last year.  Mills also expects early decision admits to make up 45-50 percent of the incoming freshman class.

Princeton Class of 2020 early action applications rise 9.4 percent

princeton logoPrinceton announced that it received 4,164 single-choice early action applications as of November 11. This represents a 9.4 percent increase from last year, and is attributable to both increased outreach and the removal of the SAT subject test requirement this year.

University of Pennsylvania sees slight rise in Early Decision applications

upenn logoThe University of Pennsylvania reported a slight rise in Early Decision applicants for the Class of 2020.  A total of 5,629 early decision applications were received this year, up 140 from last year.

Decisions will be posted on Friday, December 11.

University of California Fall 2015 Admission Profiles

ucUniversity of California counselor conferences have commenced, and there are lots of useful insights to be gleaned—including the latest freshman admission profiles from this past year (Class of 2019).

We've tabulated the findings for you in this post. Two things to keep in mind:

  • The profiles are for admitted students, so they're likely to appear more selective than the profile for the class that actually enrolls
