Class of 2029 Early Decision and Early Action Results

college-studentsHere's our initial list of reported early decision and early action admission rates for the Class of 2029.

This list currently includes results from Boston College,  Brown, Duke, Emory, Georgia Tech, MIT, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Rice, Santa Clara University, Tulane, University of Central Florida, University of Georgia, University of Virginia, Williams College, and Yale.

MIT Admits 721 Early Action Applicants to the Class of 2029

mit logoThe Massachusetts Institute of Technology announced today that it admitted a total of 721 early action applicants to the Class of 2029.  

A total of 12,053 applications were submitted this year, resulting in an overall admission rate of 6 percent.

Yale Accepts 10.8 Percent of Early Action Applicants to the Class of 2029

yaleYale announced today that it accepted 10.82 percent of applicants to the Class of 2029 under Single Choice Early Action.

At total of 728 acceptances were offered from a pool of 6,729 early action applicants.  17 percent of applicants were deferred, 71 percent were denied, and 1 percent were withdrawn or incomplete.

Duke Admits 12.8 Percent of Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2029

duke logoDuke announced today that it admitted 849 students via early decision (including QuestBridge scholars) to the Class of 2029.

A total of 6,627 applications were received, an increase of 6% from last year, resulting in an early decision rate of 12.8 percent.

Rice Admits 13% of Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2029

Rice logoRice University admitted 13% of early decision applicants to the Class of 2029.  

2,970 early decision applications were received, an increase from last year's high of 2,886.

Williams Admits 26.6 Percent of Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2029

Williams CollegeWilliams College announced yesterday that 26.6 percent of early decision applicants were admitted to the Class of 2029.

A total of 257 early decision acceptances were offered from a pool of 964 applicants.

Johns Hopkins Admits 551 Early Decision Applicants to Class of 2029

Brown Admits 906 Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2029

brown logoBrown accepted 906 applicants to the Class of 2029 under early decision.  

Early decision applications totaled 5,048 this year, resulting in an early admission rate of 18 percent.

Emory Admits 995 Early Decision I Applicants to Class of 2029

emory logoEmory University admitted 995 Early Decision I applicants to the Class of 2029. 805 were admitted to Emory College, 400 to Oxford College and 210 to both.

A total of 3,311 early decision 1 applications were received for admittance to Emory College, Oxford College at Emory or both.

University of Virginia Admits 1,282 Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2029

uva logoThe University of Virginia announced today that it admitted 1,282 early decision applicants to the Class of 2029.  

A total of 4,971 early decision applications were received. The resident admit rate was 29.5 percent versus 21 percent for non-residents.

Georgia Tech Admits 2,600+ Early Action Applicants to the Class of 2029

GT logoGeorgia Tech announced today that it admitted 2650 early action applicants (in-state only) to the Class of 2029.

Over 8100 early action applications were received this cycle, resulting in an overall admission rate of 33 percent.

University of Georgia Admits 9,500+ Early Action Applicants to the Class of 2029

UGA logoThe University of Georgia announced today that it admitted 9,500+ early action applicants to the Class of 2029.

Over 30,490 early action applications were received this cycle, resulting in an overall admission rate of 31 percent (42 percent in-state, 24 percent out-of-state).

University of Georgia Admits 5,300+ In-State Early Action Applicants to the Class of 2029

UGA logoThe University of Georgia offered approximately 5,350 in-state early action applicants to the Class of 2029.

A total of 12,860+ in-state applications were received, up 13 percent from the previous year, resulting in an in-state admit rate of 42 percent.

Boost Your Odds 50% With These Early Action Schools

earlyactionLooking for a way to enhance admission odds without obligating yourself to attend?  Here's a list of colleges with early action admission rates that are at least 50% higher than their regular decision admission rates.  

Unlike Early Decision, Early Action is non-binding, so it nearly always works to your advantage.  And as the list shows, this advantage can be meaningful if you're a competitive applicant...all for simply applying 45-60 days earlier than normal.  

With most early action deadlines occurring in early November, the time is now to take a closer look.
