Tracking Application Requirements with College Kickstart
Keeping track of your college application requirements can be a royal hassle — from supplements and standardized testing to interviews and recommendations, every college seems to want something different.
One of College Kickstart’s niftiest features is the ability to track key application requirements—which have already been updated for the 2020-21 application season. It's a big time-saver and a great way to get organized without having to create and update spreadsheets.
Each time you create a plan in College Kickstart, key application requirements are automatically tracked for each school on your college list, along with links straight back to the school's website for definitive answers. Specifically, you’ll be able to track:
- Common Application support. Does the school support the Common App, and if not, is it a school-specific application or something like ApplyTexas (for Texas schools) or MyUC (for University of California campuses).
- Standardized testing policy. SAT/ACT requirements are summarized, as well as whether the school offers test-optional, test-flexible, test-conditional or test-blind admissions. For schools where we track departmental admission rates, we'll also include department-specific test requirements.
- Recommendation requirements. Recommendation requirements are also covered.
-
Interview policy. Interview requirements for each school are provided.
-
Short answer essay prompts. We've even gone through the short answer and essay prompt requirements by school and provided counts and sizing where available. And yes, this includes the "hidden" prompts that aren't in the writing supplement section of Common App.
-
Application checklist. If you’re looking for more context, we’ll also give you a direct link to each school's application checklist.
With the frenzy that is the college admissions process, staying on top of changing requirements and deadlines is a must. Let College Kickstart help you.
