Posted in College Kickstart

schooladdsWith 2017 right around the corner, we thought it was time to give you a sneak peek of some of the cool new capabilities we've got in store for rising seniors and parents this January.

What's New for Students and Parents in 2017

Expanded school coverage

Expanded school coverage

Our coverage universe expands to over 400 institutions in 2017 with the addition of more regional colleges, likely schools and institutions with generous aid like Cooper Union (half-tuition). If you're a Plus or Premium subscriber, you'll also get access to admissions data for 300+ departments across 42 institutions.

Updated academic profile

Updated academic profile

The academic profile changes in two ways for 2017:

  • SAT scores shift to the new format (SAT-ERW and SAT-M). We'll take care of converting old SAT scores reported by the colleges to ensure apples to apples comparisons.
  • Weighted GPA may now be included as part of a student's academic profile. Depending on how each of the colleges on the student's list reports GPA, if at all, we'll use the appropriate one to make the comparison.

Refined grading system

Refined grading system

We've updated our list check graphic and grading system to capture more nuance and provide clear instructions for how to balance your list when needed. College Kickstart is now also set up to take the better of your SAT or ACT scores when both are provided and accounts for the presence of unlikely schools in the list.

That's it for now, stay tuned for details this January.  In the meantime, feel free to learn more about College Kickstart or check out what our customers have to say by clicking on one of the buttons below.
