University of Virginia Admits 968 Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2025

uva logoThe University of Virginia announced today that it admitted 968 early decision applicants to the Class of 2025.  

A total of 2,937 early decision applications were received, up 38 percent year over year, resulting in an overall early admission rate of 33 percent.  The resident admit rate was 39 percent versus 26 percent for non-residents. Early decision acceptances are expected to represent roughly 26 percent of the targeted class size of 3,750.

Emory Admits 769 Early Decision I Applicants to Class of 2025

emory logoEmory University admitted 769 Early Decision I applicants to the Class of 2025. 614 were admitted solely to Emory College, 337 solely to Oxford College and 182 to both.

A total of 1,975 applications were received for admittance to Emory College, Oxford College at Emory or both.

Georgia Tech Admits 2,330 Early Action 1 Applicants to the Class of 2025

gatech logoGeorgia Tech announced that it admitted 2,330 Early Action 1 applicants to the Class of 2025.  Early Action 1 is for Georgia residents only.  

Early Action 1 applications exceed 6,000, resulting in an admission rate of 38 percent.

University of Georgia Admits 8,086 Early Admission Applicants to the Class of 2025

UGA logoThe University of Georgia offered 8,086 early action applicants to the Class of 2025.

A total of 20,901 applications were received, up 27 percent from the previous year, resulting in an admit rate of 39 percent.

Early Admission Plan Changes for the Class of 2025

college kickstart logoMost schools have completed their updates for the Class of 2025 admission cycle (2020-21), and several of the changes we've observed are worth noting. 

Roughly 25 schools have modified early admission options available to applicants this fall.  Notable changes include the temporary suspension of Restrictive Early Action at Princeton, the introduction of an Early Action 2 option specifically for non-resident applicants at Georgia Tech, a new Early Action option at Macalester and new Early Decision 2 options at Baylor, Johns Hopkins, Syracuse, University of Rochester and Villanova.

University of Virginia Admits 5,219 Early Action Applicants to the Class of 2024

uva logoThe University of Virginia announced today that it admitted 5,219 early action applicants to the Class of 2024.  

A total of 25,160 early action applications were received, resulting in an overall early admission rate of 26 percent.  35 percent of in-state applicants were admitted compared to 15 percent of out-of-state applicants.

Georgia Tech Admits 4,569 Early Action Applicants to the Class of 2024

gatech logoGeorgia Tech announced that it admitted 4,569 early action applicants to the Class of 2024.  

Early action applications grew 9 percent to 22,199, resulting in an early action admission rate of 21 percent.

Rice Admits 385 Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2024

Rice logoRice University admitted 385 early decision applicants to the Class of 2024.  

Early decision applications declined 22 percent to 2,042, resulting in an admission rate of 18.9 percent.

Yale Admits 796 Early Action Applicants to Class of 2024

yaleYale admitted 796 applicants to the Class of 2024 under Single Choice Early Action.

5,777 applications were received, resulting in an early admission rate of 14 percent.  56 percent of applicants were deferred, 29 percent were denied, and 1 percent were withdrawn or incomplete.

Dartmouth Admits 547 Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2024

dartmouth logoDartmouth accepted 547 applicants (including 21 matched through QuestBridge) to the Class of 2023 under early decision.  

The total number of early admission applicants fell to 2,069 this year, down 16 percent.  This resulted in an early admission rate of 26 percent.

Dartmouth anticipates these early admits will account for 46 percent of this year's targeted class of 1,150.

University of Pennsylvania Admits 1,269 Early Decision Applicants to Class of 2024

Early decision applications totaled 6,453, resulting in an admission rate of 20 percent.

Cornell Admits 1,576 Early Decision Applicants to the Class of 2024

cornell logoCornell accepted 1,576 applicants to the Class of 2024 under early decision.  

Early decision applicants totaled 6,615, resulting in an admisison rate of 23.8 percent.

Legacy students made up 22.1 percent of early admits and athletes made up 12.1 percent.
